Program:
1st day : Sofia – Volos – Skiathos island (by car and kayak)
The departure is in the morning (at 06:00) from Vasil Levski Stadium. Around 13.00 we will stop in Volos for lunch and shopping (we will need food and water supplies for the next day). Around 15.00 we plan to be on the shore, opposite the island of Skiathos, where we will have about two hours for lunch, launch of the boats, equipment and instruction. The cars will remain on the mainland, and we will load everything we need with us. After about an hour of hiking on the water we will reach a great beach, where we will make our first camp on the coast. In addition to a cool view, we will be greeted by the smiling hosts of the tavern.
2nd day : Skiathos - Alonissos
Breakfast, coffee and preparation for new adventures. We continue with the kayaks along the impressive southern coast to the town of Skiathos.
On this side, the island is relatively flat and full of greenery. Here we will go through a series of unique sandy beaches: The most famous is Kukunaris. Along the beach stretches a forest that makes a nice shade. Behind it is a lake and countless rare birds. Mega Yalos Bay is a favorite place of adventurers, nudists, divers ... in love. This part is more civilized and ... commercial and there are places to rest and eat.
The goal is to be at the port of Skiathos in the afternoon and after a short walk to board the kayaks and luggage on the ferry to Alonissos. In the main town of Patitiri we will spend the night in a guest house / hotel. After we settle down, we follow a nice tavern and walk around the town.
Alonissos is one of those places that stay in the heart – a little more difficult to access, a little wilder and much more real than mass destinations. The combination of silence, pine smell and deep blue sea is the perfect environment for kayaking.
We will be almost in the heart of the Sea Park, in which, in addition to amazing nature, is full of seals, large turtles and dolphins. No wonder we wink with some of these locals. And more: Get yourself a quality snorkeling kit. Most people miss that the real magic of this island is beneath the surface. The water is so transparent that you can often see antique remains and rich marine life even 10-15 meters deep.
Day 3: Patitiri – South Coast – Walls Wall (c. 16 km)
After breakfast, we will need to load with food, water and supplies for the coming days.
Patitiri and Walls Vala are the last places from where you can buy supplies. To the north of Wally Vala there are no shops.
• Our route starts from Patitiri in the northeast direction. You pass by the picturesque bays of Rusum Yalos and Votsi. You will see amazing red rocks near Kokinokastro Beach. You can cross briefly to the small island of Kokinokastro.
The area around Steni Vala and a little further north in the bay of Agios Dimitrios, where it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the shape of a language entering the sea will be a place for our camp.
Day 4 : Agios Dimitrios – Tour of the island of Peristera (c. 18-20 km)
In the morning we will have time to enjoy the sea, the coffee and... gather the camp without leaving traces.
It is planned to cross the strait (about 2 km) to the island of Peristera, then circle it clockwise.
The East Coast of Peristera is completely uninhabitable and wild. Here is the underwater museum (the ancient sunken ship), but it is at a great depth. The water is transparent and we can look. There are great little coves for rest. Namely in one of the sheltered bays on the west coast of Peristera (faced to Alonissos), in order to be protected from the east wind we will make another camp;
Day 5: Peristera – Wild North – Geracas (c. 18 km)
Route: We return to the main island and continue north to Gerakas Bay. This is the wildest part of the island. The shores are getting higher and steeper. Here is the "heart" on the territory of seals. We'll see a lot of sea caves. There is a small exploration station at the Sea Park in Gerakas Bay. The place is extremely peaceful and protected and is perfect for our night rest.
Seals: If you meet a monk seal, keep a distance of at least 50 meters! Do not enter sea caves – these are their refugation shelters!
Day 6: Geracas – West Coast – Patitiri (approx. 22 km)
Route: Return to Patitiri along the western (outside) side of the island. This country is exposed to the open north-west wind and there are not many places to go ashore. For this purpose, we will fully comply with the forecasts and it is not excluded that we will have to miss it.
The view of the rock cliffs and the open sea is striking. The coast is harsher here. At the end we will arrive again in Patitiri and we will be in the familiar houses again.
In the evening it is highly recommended to stop by the Old Town (Chora) on the hill. The view of the sea from there, while drinking one ouzo after a few days of rowing, is the best way to say goodbye to Alonissos.
Day 7 : Alonissos – Skiathos
In the morning we will load the kayaks on the ferry to Skiathos.
Depending on the forecast and the capabilities of the group, we will tour Skiathos on the north side, where the route is longer and challenging or along the already familiar southern coast.
The North Shore is filled with pathetic natural views: beaches, rocks, caves...ideal for kayaking, diving and jumping. We will see: The old fortress of Castro, which was strategic. Lalaria Beach is surrounded by cliffs. It is only available on water. His pictures are on all catalogs. Xanemos is located at the end of the airport runway and the planes fly over the heads of the beachgoers.
8th day: Skiathos - Sofia
After waking up, we will have time to refresh ourselves on the beach. Rowing to the mainland will take no more than an hour. Around noon we will be ready to travel to Sofia ...
Arrival in Sofia – about 21 hours.
Note:
This adventure is suitable for people who have some experience with a kayak.
If you are a beginner in the expedition tours, but you want to join you, you will need to take part in one of our one-day or two-day trainings.
The level of difficulty of the adventure is not high, but in the area there is a possibility of strong, vakar and short-lived winds, which require an adequate response on our and your part.
The event is held with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 participants. If a small group is collected, the announced fee may be proportionately inflated.
Applications for participation are accepted until 08.06.2026
